Overview
Carriers can provide live tracking updates via several different tracking platforms (project44, Macropoint, etc.). Speak with your broker to understand which platform they utilize. Carriers can also provide manual tracking updates via the Transfix Carrier App.
Live Tracking on a Shipment
To provide a truck number or other necessary information for live tracking, log in to the Transfix Carrier App (for details on logging in, see this article).
Navigate to the "My Loads" page. Click on the shipment you want to provide live tracking for.
On the right side of the Shipment Details page, click into the "Assignment" section. From here, you can enter the driver name, the truck #, tractor vin, dispatcher and submit.
You will be able to tell if you are connected and properly from the map on the Shipment Details page. You can see from the text below the map if you are connected
Once your shipment is moving, you can see from the banner color whether or not your shipment is tracking properly, and is on time or running late.
Manual Tracking
If you are unable to live track, you can provide manual tracking updates through the Carrier App. This may also be necessary if the elected tracking provider does not use geofencing to indicate when you've entered and departed a stop. You can update that information this way as well.
Navigate to the "My Loads" page and click into the shipment you want to provide tracking updates for. At the top right corner, you can select the shipment status and then provide the necessary timestamps (ETAs, etc.). This information will flow through to your customer's TMS.
