Overview
You can now upload your Asset rates into the Solutions Console. When pricing a contract RFP, you can display these rates alongside your brokerage rates so you can choose which to submit to customers.
**FYI Control panel settings like cost strategy and default margin do not apply to asset rates.
How do I get access?
Asset Rates are activated per organization. If you'd like this enabled, reach out to your Transfix Account Management Team.
Where do asset rates come from?
From your rate source: a file you submit with the lanes you commonly run or expect to price.
What's in the rate source?
Column | What it does |
Origin and Destination details | Used to match RFP lanes to your rates. |
Equipment_type | Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, or Specialized. |
Rate_type | All-In or Linehaul. Fuel isn't included here; add it in the RFP upload template. |
Carrier _rate+ markup_pct | Your cost to run the lane plus your markup percentage. |
Final_contract_rate | A final rate with no cost/markup breakdown. Overrides asset_cost and markup_pct if both are entered. |
How are RFP lanes matched to my rate source?
When you add lanes to an RFP, each lane is matched against your asset rate source using its origin ZIP, destination ZIP, and equipment type. If a match is found, the corresponding asset rate is pulled in. If no matching asset rate exists, it displays as "Unavailable".
Can I change the asset rates on an RFP?
Yes. You can manually enter rates into the Asset column of the RFP upload template. You can also edit the lane directly once uploaded. Your manual entry overrides the matched rate source value. You can change the rates, rate type, and margin individually or with the same bulk actions you use for brokerage.
Can I add special requirements to asset lanes?
Yes. Fees set on the lane apply to both the asset and brokerage rates on that lane.
Can I filter and sort by asset rates?
Yes. All existing filters and sorting apply to both asset and brokerage rates.
How do I upload asset rates?
Through the standard RFP upload template, which now includes asset rate columns. Smart upload doesn't support asset rates.
Can I bid both asset and brokerage on the same lane?
Yes. You can submit both divisions on a single lane, and both rates show side by side.
How do I award lanes to asset rates?
The awarding process works the same as brokerage, however each lane can only be awarded to a single division. You'll select either Asset or Brokerage as the awarded division per lane.
How does Do Not Bid work with two divisions?
Do Not Bid applies to the whole lane, both divisions at once.
Can I see past award outcomes on asset lanes?
Yes. Lane award history now includes asset lanes
How do I manage awarded asset contracts?
On your Rate Management page. Asset and brokerage lanes are tracked separately, each with a division badge. You can filter by division. The lane summary reflects all tenders covered on the lane; breakdown by division is included in the CPM report.
